Supplemental Funds for Winnebago County Emergency Food and Shelter Programs

Winnebago County has been chosen to receive $162,185 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county and an additional $231,229 of supplemental funds under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

A Local Board, consisting of representatives from local nonprofit human service agencies, governmental entities, and the community at large will determine how the funds are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in Winnebago County. Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying service providers in Winnebago County are urged to apply. Public or private agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds may access an application from the United Way of Rock River Valley website at www.unitedwayrrv.org/EFSP.

Completed applications must be received no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020. Email completed applications to lindac@unitedwayrrv.org
